Purpose
This unit standard is for people who currently are, or will be, involved in the
monitoring of telecommunications equipment and systems and networks.
People assessed as competent in this unit standard are able to identify the
physical location of an unacceptable variation and mobilise resources to
restore.

studios, teletext, television transmitters and receivers, customer premise equipment,

1.1
The equipment used to monitor the performance of telecommunications
networks, systems, and equipment is accurate, in good working order, and
available for immediate use by authorised personnel.

Telecommunications networks, systems, and equipment are monitored at
regular intervals in accordance with operational guidelines or customer
requirements.

Repair procedures are current and available for immediate reference by
authorised personnel.

Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
