People credited with this unit standard are able to: identify bulk steel product packaging requirements; prepare bulk steel product for packaging; and package bulk steel products. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Identify bulk steel product packaging requirements. Evidence requirements 1.1 Production schedules are interpreted to ensure packaging specifications are identified in accordance with company and/or customer specifications. 1.2 Packaging activities are sequenced to ensure production and delivery schedules are achieved. Outcome 2 Prepare bulk steel product for packaging. Range 2.2 Protective claddings are manufactured in accordance with company documentation. 2.3 Selection of ergonomic practices reduces the risk of injury in accordance with legislative requirements. 2.4 Measures are taken to prevent product damage in accordance with company documentation. measures include but are not limited to – while operating or directing the operation of lifting equipment. Range Outcome 3 Package bulk steel products. Evidence requirements 3.1 Packages contain the specified number and type of products. 3.2 External labelling and marking identify product specification and customer in accordance with company documentation. 3.3 Finished package matches customer protection and presentation requirements in accordance with company documentation. 3.4 Recording of data ensures audit trail and customer billing are in accordance with company documentation.
