Standards and references applicable to this unit standard include but are not limited to New Zealand Standards (NZS)
NZS 4223: 1985 Parts 1 and 2 Code of practice for glazing in buildings;
NZS 4223: 1999 Human impact safety requirements;
NZS 4223: 2008 Wind, dead, snow and live actions.
Literature produced by the manufacturers of glazing plastic products.

Evidence requirements

Glazing plastics are identified in terms of their properties as alternatives to
glass.
Range

includes but is not limited to – acrylic, polycarbonate; polyvinyl
chloride (PVC) acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), glassreinforced plastic.
Types of coating and cleaning methods suitable for glazing plastics are
described with reference to their durability.
Range
includes but is not limited to – scratch resistance, ultraviolet (UV)
resistant.
