Elements and performance criteria
Element 1
Outline the findings of the flooring inspection and/or evaluation in a written report.
Performance criteria
1.1
The site is described in terms of the geographic location, construction type,
building use, age of building and any environmental considerations.
1.2
The flooring products and associated building materials inspected are described
in terms of volume, brand name and type.
1.3
The scope of the inspection is described in relation to the initial complaint.
1.4
The process of evidence collection is described in terms of the steps followed.
1.5
The inspection findings are outlined in accordance with industry requirements.
Range
industry requirements include but are not limited to – accurate
information, appropriate language, unbiased judgement.
Element 2
Provide recommendations for remedial action from the findings identified in the written
report.
Performance criteria
2.1
Conclusions proposed are drawn from the findings presented in the written
report.
2.2
Recommendations are outlined in the written report in terms of possible courses
of remedial actions and referenced to appropriate industry standards and
legislation.
2.3
Determination of fault is related to findings presented in the report.
Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.

Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations
wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for
tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
