People credited with this unit standard are able to describe the composition and purpose of resin flooring products, and the installation and performance of resin flooring products. Resin flooring products refer to epoxy, polyester, vinylester, polymethylmethacrylate (MMA), polyurethane, engineered cements, acrylics, polyureas. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Describe the composition and purpose of resin flooring products. Evidence requirements 1.1 The description identifies resin flooring products’ components in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications. Range resin flooring products include but are not limited to – resins, fillers, catalysts, hardeners, additives. Evidence requirements 2.1 The description includes an outline of the installation process in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications. may include but is not limited to – installation time, method(s), surface preparation, curing, quality assurance; one installation method is required. Range 2.2 The description includes an outline of performance characteristics of resin flooring products in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications. may include but is not limited to – hardness, stability, appearance, wear time, slip resistance.
