Work site practice refers to the documented procedures specific to a work site which set out the standard and required practices of that work site. 2 For all on-site unit standards the practical assessment evidence must be provided in the context of commercial business construction operations, in the workplace, under normal workplace conditions. 3 Credit for this unit standard indicates compliance with industry practice. Range cement-based (one-pot, two-pot, three-pot), acrylic based (one-pot, two-pot). Evidence requirements 1.1 Primers and adhesives used for floor and wall tiling are identified by types and their uses. 1.2 Procedures for mixing tile primers and adhesives are explained in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. 1.3 Procedures for applying tile primers and adhesives are explained in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and work site practice. Outcome 2 Select primers and adhesives. Range primers and adhesives include – cement-based, acrylic-based, one-pot adhesive, two-pot adhesive, three-pot adhesive; evidence of two types of primers and two types of adhesives is required. Evidence requirements 2.1 Type of substrate is identified from working drawings and site inspection. 2.2 Primers and adhesives are selected in accordance with job specifications and tile type. Outcome 3 Mix primers and adhesives on site. Range manually, mechanically. Evidence requirements 3.1 Primers and adhesives are mixed in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. 3.2 Safety procedures specified for type of primer and adhesive are followed in accordance with work site practice.
