Demonstrate knowledge of losses in a distribution facility. performance criteria

1.1 Losses are described in terms of causes.

Range: causes may include but are not limited to - theft, handling damage, clerical errors, administration errors, wastage, poor storage techniques.

1.2 Methods used to identify losses are described in terms of organisational procedures.

Range: methods may include but are not limited to - stocktake, audit, stock monitoring, security surveillance, observation.

1.3 Behaviours which lead to losses are identified.

Range: behaviours may include but are not limited to - loitering, loitering in groups, furtive movements, carrying suspicious containers. element 2

2.1 Loss prevention techniques used in the workplace are described in terms of organisational procedures.

Range: loss prevention techniques may include but are not limited to - observation and supervision of personnel, use of restricted areas, stock control procedures, rotation, storage, movement, picking, packing, reporting of suspicious behaviour.

2.2 Procedures for dealing with suspected losses are described in terms of organisational procedures.
