Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to: prepare to
produce illustration and advertising graphics; develop the initial
rough visuals; produce finished graphic work; and evaluate
finished illustration and advertising graphics, and make any
necessary amendments.

Explanatory notes
1
This unit standard may be used to award credit for the achievement of learning
outcomes consistent with Technology in the New Zealand Curriculum (Learning
Media Wellington, 1995).

In the process of attaining this unit standard, learners are expected to use the
following materials: bleedproof, tracing, cartridge, white, and colour papers; overlays
and mounting boards; pens and markers; typesheets and transfer lettering.

Problems presented in the brief are identified.

Information gathered and collated addresses the problems identified.

Evaluate finished illustration and advertising graphics, and make any necessary
amendments.
Evidence requirements
4.1
Information is checked for accuracy, and any corrections needed are identified.
4.2
Design is evaluated in relation to the requirements of the brief, and any needed
modifications are identified.
4.3
Final graphics are modified, where necessary, to meet the requirements of the
brief.
