Explanatory notes

Definitions
Unprepared aircraft operating area refers to a location lacking designated airport
facilities, for example buildings, perimeter fences, electricity.
IED refers to improvised explosive device.
CBRN refers to chemical, biological, radiation and nuclear.

Reference to enterprise procedures means that all activities must comply with the
requirements contained in the current relevant legislative and/or regulatory
requirements, which includes but is not limited to: New Zealand Defence Force
(NZDF) Policy.

Evidence requirements
1.1
Aviation assets and personnel are guarded in accordance with enterprise
procedures.

Static defences are constructed in accordance with enterprise procedures.

Camouflage and concealment techniques are employed in accordance with
enterprise procedures.
1.4
Base security duties are performed in accordance with enterprise procedures.
1.5
IED procedures are applied in accordance with enterprise procedures.
1.6
Personnel and assets are protected against CBRN threats in accordance with

Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.
