Company safety requirements must conform to the
Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, the Health
and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995, and their
subsequent amendments.

This unit standard refers exclusively to making knives
using various widths and thicknesses of 'pre-sharpened
cold bend knife blade steel' (knife steel). Common
widths are, 19mm, 23.8mm, 32mm, 50mm. This unit
standard is not applicable to making 'forge steel knives'
or knives from 'rule steel'.

clean cut, required angle, economical use of steel, exhaustive use
of short pieces.

Cut pieces are marked to identify against patterns.

Cut pieces are stamped to comply with customer and/or order specification.
Range:
any of – size, fitting, style number, style name, company.

Cut pieces are stacked according to company practice.
2.5
Work practices meet company safety requirements.
