Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Interpret and act on drawings and specifications for refrigeration and air conditioning system components. Evidence requirements 1.1 Installation drawings and component specifications are verified with the supervisor. 1.2 Parts and materials needed to assemble components are determined from the specifications, and verified with the supervisor. 1.3 Delivery timings for parts and materials are determined and confirmed with the supervisor. 1.4 Needed parts and materials are ordered, and deliveries are arranged to meet required timings. Evidence requirements 2.1 Materials are cut, drilled, shaped, and folded as required by drawings, specifications, and supervisor’s instructions. 2.2 Materials are assembled using welding, adhesives, brazing, solder, rivets, and other fasteners, and by folding (ducting) as required by drawings, specifications, and supervisor’s instructions. Outcome 3 Fit parts together to form components for mobile refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Evidence requirements 3.1 Electrical and mechanical parts are assembled, mounted, fastened, and connected as required by drawings, specifications, and supervisor’s instructions. 3.2 Finishing materials that meet the requirements of drawings, specifications, and supervisor’s instructions are applied to components. This unit standard is expiring. Assessment against the standard must take place by the last date for assessment set out below.
