Among the choices to make are: Hosted – PCCD has the option of a hosted contract, wherein Innovative Interfaces handles system maintenance and upgrades Discovery platform – Increasingly the standard search interface used by California community colleges, a discovery platform is an “add-on” interface that improves student search success. Innovative Interfaces uses EBSCO Discovery Services, considered by many to be the premier discovery platform. Decision Center – A performance and collection management tool provides essential data for assessment purposes. Electronic Resource Management (ERM) – An organizational tool used to manage the growing number of electronic resources. Without this kind of tool, the PCCD libraries have limited options for developing and expanding access to electronic resources. Mobile Apps for Students and Library Staff – A mobile-friendly interface to the library catalog is essential for students. Additionally the library is seeking a mobile-friendly worklist app that will allow staff to use portable devices to view and manage library collections. Importantly the staff app would also allow staff to bring the online catalog and reference assistance to the stacks, providing new for library service Cost Estimates In 2014-2015, PCCD librarians researched the costs of migration.
