Chancellor From: District Education Committee Date: October 18, 2013 Re: Community College Survey of Student Engagement As each of the colleges begins the process of Institutional Self-Evaluation of Educational Quality and Institutional Effectiveness, the District Education Committee was requested to address the use of the Community College Survey of Student Engagement. As a result of the discussion it was clear that the colleges use this survey from time to time, but there is no real coordination among the colleges as to when the survey is used. Further, there is no designated funding to pay for the cost of the survey. The District Education Committee is requesting that you work with the colleges to provide a ongoing regular schedule for administering this survey and to provide designated funding to cover the costs. The District Education Committee looks forward to hearing from you.
