This qualification has been reviewed and replaced by the New Zealand Certificate in Dairy

Processing (Level 4) with strands in Cheese Making, Cream Products, Milk Powder, Milk

Protein, Milk Treatment, and Milk Collection [Ref: 2563].

The last date for entry into programmes leading to the qualification is 31 December 2015.

Purpose

This qualification is intended for experienced employees working with limited supervision.

It recognises the ability to apply and monitor a range of on-job skills while working with broad autonomy within defined areas of responsibility. The qualification is structured with a generic compulsory section and an elective section that provides options covering general and specialist competencies required for specific products and technologies. The two optional strands in product safety and people skills are intended to provide further career development options.

This qualification is modelled on the Australian Qualifications Framework Certificate IV in

Food Processing (FDF40103). Mutual recognition arrangements have been made between the New Zealand Industry Training Organisation and AgriFood Skills Australia.
