NZQA registered unit standard 1574 version 6 Page 1 of 3 Title Demonstrate knowledge of cleaning methods for floors with special surfaces Level 4 Credits Purpose 6 This is a theoretical unit standard for people who want to develop some specialist knowledge in cleaning a range of surfaces. People credited with this standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of: types of floors with special surfaces; methods and agents used for cleaning floors with special surfaces; methods of sealing floors with special surfaces; and maintenance programmes for floors with special surfaces. Non-resilient floors include concrete, granolithic, terrazzo, marble, brick, stone, quarry tile, asphalt, slate, ceramic tiles. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Demonstrate knowledge of types of floors with special surfaces. Outcome 3 Demonstrate knowledge of methods of sealing floors with special surfaces. Evidence requirements 3.1 Methods of sealing non-resilient floors are described according to their composition. 3.2 Methods of sealing resilient floors are described according to their composition. Outcome 4 Demonstrate knowledge of maintenance programmes for floors with special surfaces. Evidence requirements 4.1 Maintenance requirements for non-resilient floors are described in terms of composition of floor. 4.2 Maintenance requirements for resilient floors are described according to composition of floor.
