purpose:
This unit standard is for people in the motor and related
industries. People credited with this unit standard are able to
carry out security procedures in the workplace, and carry out
security procedures outside the workplace.
entry information:
Recommended: Unit 21673, Demonstrate knowledge of
maintaining stock security in the motor and related
industries, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.
accreditation option:
Evaluation of documentation and visit by NZQA and industry.
moderation option:
A centrally established and directed national moderation
system has been set up by the NZ Motor Industry Training
Organisation.

Carry out security procedures in the workplace.
performance criteria
1.1
Work premises lock-up and burglar alarm systems are identified, and are
secured and/or armed according to company guidelines.
1.2
Stock is kept secure according to company guidelines.
1.3
Stock is accounted for and is located in a secure area according to company
guidelines.
1.4
Workplace security measures are carried out according to company guidelines
to prevent theft and loss of stock.
1.5
Surveillance is carried out of non-occupied areas of the workplace according to
company guidelines.
1.6
Stock sold and/or removed from the premises is recorded and accounted for
according to company guidelines.

Carry out security procedures outside the workplace.

2.1
Surveillance is carried out of non-occupied areas according to company
guidelines.
2.2
Vehicles and/or product are secure during and outside working hours according
to company guidelines.
Range:
may include but is not limited to – systems turned off, vehicles
parked outside locked, burglar alarm activated, safe used.

2.3
There is no damage to stock attributable to security negligence outside the
workplace according to company guidelines.
2.4
Surveillance is carried out on stored stock according to company guidelines.
