Territorial authority and/or regional council (TA/RC) requirements;
Manufacturer’s instructions.

Personal protective equipment, appropriate to job requirements, is to be selected and
used in accordance with company requirements and manufacturer’s instructions.

Definitions
Company requirements refer to all policies, procedures, and methodologies the
candidate’s organisation has in place including but not limited to those relating to
health, safety, environment, quality, and operations.
Job instructions are those given to the operator prior to undertaking a job. They may
include site safety instructions, contract specifications, and written memos.
Manufacturer’s instructions may include specifications, installation, handling, use, and
maintenance instructions and safety data sheets.

1.1
Job instructions are clarified in accordance with company requirements.
Outcome 2
Select and prepare fertiliser application equipment and machinery.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Equipment and machinery chosen are appropriate for the area, topography, and
type of fertiliser.
2.2
Equipment and machinery are checked and are fit for purpose; and, if required,
corrective action is taken in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and/or
company requirements.
2.3
Fertiliser application equipment is calibrated and adjusted for the work to be
carried out.
Outcome 3
Carry out field preparation.
Evidence requirements
3.1
Work pattern is determined to produce systematic and efficient fertiliser
application over the targeted area and takes into account potential hazards.

Evidence requirements
4.1
Fertiliser applications and coverage are timed in accordance with client and
company requirements.
4.2
Planned work pattern is followed with adjustments made to suit changing
conditions.
Range

4.3
Fertiliser is loaded and applied with minimal wastage in accordance with
company requirements.
4.4
Fertiliser application details are recorded in accordance with client and
company requirements.
Outcome 5
Carry out post-operational procedures.
Evidence requirements
5.1
Equipment and machinery are shut down and stored in accordance with
company requirements.
5.2
Equipment is cleaned and lubricated, and any damage or faults are repaired,
replaced or reported in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and
company requirements.
5.3
Documentation for the operation is completed in accordance with company and
client requirements, and is stored in accordance with company requirements.
