Definitions
Differing road traffic environments refers to public roads with varied volumes of traffic
on grade 2 and 3 road features.
Grade 2 road features include lightly trafficked, single-laned roads in each direction
and roads with more traffic requiring giving way, stopping, and right-hand turns at
controlled and uncontrolled intersections.
Grade 3 road features include more challenging traffic environments with heavier
traffic, higher speeds and multi-laned intersections.
Intermediate (Grade 2) cyclists are expected to build on beginner cyclist skills to
demonstrate safe cycling manoeuvres in a limited range of road traffic environments.
