Page 1 of 1 Field Manufacturing Revision of Boatbuilding unit standard 25154 Subfield Boating Industries Domain Boatbuilding ID 25154 The Boating Industry Training Organisation has completed the revision of the unit standard above. Date new version published July 2010 Planned review date December 2013 Summary Unit 25154, Prepare for and apply a marine interior coating system, is required for award of the National Certificate in Boatbuilding (Level 3) with strands in Fill and Fair Marine Substrates, Interior Marine Painting, and Exterior Marine Painting [Ref: 1493] with the Interior Marine Painting strand. The entry information for this standard required Unit 11791, Apply build coats and finish coats for marine exterior paint surfaces, as a prerequisite requirement. The Boating ITO has removed unit standard 11791 as a prerequisite requirement, as it focuses on exterior marine painting, not interior marine painting. Main changes Unit standard 11791 has been removed as a prerequisite for entry to unit standard 25154. The Registration Criteria for National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Unit Standards have been reviewed and replaced with the Quality assurance criteria for the listing of unit standards on the Directory of Assessment Standards. The changes made to the criteria during this review reflect the replacement of the NQF and the Register with the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) and the Directory of Assessment Standards, the inclusion of criteria for grades, and changes to terminology and format of unit standards. The main changes to terminology are that: Special Notes were renamed Explanatory notes Elements were renamed Outcomes Performance Criteria were renamed Evidence requirements.
