Explain in your own words the implications of the 4 basic principles of International Environmental Law. 2. (a) How has International Environmental Law addressed Climate Change? OR (b) International law relating to wild life has had to deal with many issues. Explain briefly the most important ones that have been incorporated in Treaties. 3. Explain the role of the EU institutions and that of Member States in the evolution and decision-making process of environmental policies and laws. Should these policies and laws be equally applicable to ail Member States or should special arrangements be made for small states? 4. Does a conflict exist between free trade and the protection of the environment or are they both needed for the sustainable development of a state especially a small state? 5. The expression "Pollution of the marine environment" in Article 1, Paragraph 4, of the United Nations Law of the Sea Convention is defined as "the introduction by man, directly or indirectly, of substances or energy into the marine environment, including estuaries, which results or is likely to result in such deleterious hindrance to marine activities, including fishing and other legitimate uses of the sea, impairment of quality for use of sea water and reduction of amenities".
