Summary
The standards in these domains where last registered in 2004 and have now been
reviewed to ensure continuing fitness for purpose. Feedback was invited from providers,
assessors, moderators, and companies in the industry, and standards edited. Suggested
changes were relatively minor, and the opportunity was taken to generally improve the
quality of the standards.
Meetings involving Competenz and industry representatives considered the feedback and
endorsed the changes in August 2009.
Main changes






Titles of some standards were amended to align with changes made to elements
and/or to better reflect the main outcome of the standard.
Level of standard 7659 was decreased from 6 to 5 to better reflect the evidence
requirements of the standards.
Elements and performance criteria were amended to improve clarity and consistency.
Purpose statements were amended to accommodate changes to the elements.
Special notes were updated to better convey assessment parameters, including clearer
definitions, updated references to legislation, and clarification of the breadth and depth
of evidence required to demonstrate competence.
Standard 7631 was designated category D expiring due to industry no longer requiring
this unit standard.
The category D unit standard will expire at the end of December 2011
