Strip and prepare the harakeke to the required
size to produce muka.

Using the correct tool scrape the whenu as by
applying pressure to the blade of the tool until the
muka is exposed.

Scrape and rub the fibre until filmy substance on
harakeke disappears and clean muka appears.
Keep scraping and rubbing the muka until it
meets the required consistency according to the
kaitohu directions.
