AE Senior Thesis Your CPEP News Box The News box or News banner on your CPEP site is used for tracking of progress by the course instructors as well as a quick hot link to your most recent assignments or reports for faculty and site visitors alike. It must be kept up to date at all times. Maintaining the CPEP News link is part of the minimum requirement of maintaining an active CPEP site, which is a requirement to pass the course. The News box must be displayed on your CPEP home page, be readily visible and convenient to access. If an assignment or activity is not listed (and/or linked as appropriate) on the News, the assumption will be that it does not exist. As implied above, any item that is an assignment ( bio sketch, abstract, reports etc.) as opposed to an announcement, must be linked direct to the assignment in addition to being linked through your standard CPEP pages or menu bar. Assignments due as paper copies or paper drafts do not need to be linked, just recorded / announced on the News. Checklist of Items that MUST be posted on your CPEP News Section. Note that this list may not be all inclusive as you are encouraged to post items such as updates about the status of your actual thesis building project (if it is still in design or construction), revised resumes or biographical sketches, major milestones in your thesis progress plans etc. It is important to include the date that the task was completed for any required assignments. All postings must be in reverse chronological order with the most recent activity first (at the top of your News box). Some activities will have occurred prior to the start of class and it is OK to estimate the dates for those activities if you do not have them specifically documented or recorded. All large assignments such as the Tech Reports, Proposal, etc posted on the CPEP sites should open in a new window. They should include an introductory summary paragraph in HTML directly on the page. Abstracts should also generally open in a new window as the files are often very large. Your Bio-Sketch, Building Statistics and Thesis Research / Reference page should display direct on the page (use HTML). When you link from one menu tab or page to another, the page should open in the same window in lieu of a new one. Note that assignments listed below are not necessary in exact order of due dates. Check the master calendar due dates on the e-Studio site.
