2014 Summer Intern - Documentation Writer Basic Qualifications: Candidate's Graduation date must occur on or after September 1, 2014. Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree Assist GCD Documentation Team with the current releases: Department Description: • Work with the person assigned to the current product releases to research and resolve testing issues using the CQCM (defect) tool • Assist technical writers as they update content in technical documents by creating PDFs and editing content and validating links • Assist technical writers in updating and creating PDFs Feature Expansion Taskflow • Attend all meetings related to current release • Assist person assigned to documentation authoring by creating and editing technical documents for the various products and systems Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations: This position will provide support to the persons assigned to the current releases to update and edit technical manuals written in XML following DITA standards This position will provide support to the person(s) assigned to the current release to update the Expansion Task flows in Microsoft Excel and validating existing information. This position will also support the person(s) assigned to the System and product release to produce documentation Specific Knowledge/Skills: Candidate's Graduation date must occur on or after September 1, 2014. Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree, major in Communications, Technical Communications or English strongly preferred. Excellent people skills, will be working closely with other Technical Writers, Engineers and Project Managers. Work well in fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly. Need to have proficient use of Microsoft Office and Adobe Professional Familiarity with DITA standards and XML content development a plus Familiarity with ArborText Epic Editor a plus
