 SPSS (Windows) may be installed on a MAC
 A program called Parallels Desktop is needed to install
SPSS (Windows) on a MAC and costs about $80.00, please

Starting SPSS
 Download freq.sps
 To start SPSS go to:
Start>All Programs>SPSS Inc>SPSS17.0>SPSS Statistics
17.0
 Click “SPSS Statistics 17.0” to start SPSS17.0
 Click “cancel” to close the Window “What would you like
to do?”
 On “Untitled1 Window” Choose File>Open>Syntax
 Under Desktop, click freq.sps
 Choose run>all, to run freq.sps

• DATA LIST signals the start of a program
• This program has only 2 variables, male and

• Variable male is on columns 1-2
• Variable female is on columns 4-6
