Overview

Shortcuts are quick ways to get to the items you use often.

You can put a shortcut to any program, document, or printer on your desktop or in any folder.

Creating a New Shortcut in My Computer

This procedure is almost the same as creating a new short cut from Windows

Explorer.

Reminder - Microsoft has two Explorer programs. Windows Explorer is for File

Management. Internet Explorer is for

Internet Browsing.

FIRST: Select My Computer

Second: Open the appropriate file and then right click.

Third: A New Shortcut Icon Will

Appear

Finally: Drag the New Shortcut

Icon To the Desktop

Details

This will place a shortcut to on your desktop.

You can then open Mis1b.Exam by doubleclicking its shortcut icon.

A shortcut does not change the document's location.

Deleting a shortcut does not delete the original file.

Creating Shortcuts Using

Taskbar

First: Select the Taskbar Icon

Second: Select the Add Button begin the procedure for adding a shortcut .

Third: Select the Browse Button to choose the program for which you want to create a shortcut

Fourth: Open the Folder with the correct file, select that file, and click on Open.

Fifth: Click the Next Button

Sixth: Select the Desktop Icon and

Select the Next Button. This will place the Icon on the Desktop.

Finally: Type in your desired name for the shortcut, and then click the

Finished Button.
