Keyboarding Sherburne-Earlville Central School Mrs. Hall CLASS REQUIREMENTS The only thing you must bring to this class is a pen or pencil and planner. All class assignments must be handed in by specific deadlines. These dates will be announced. Usually all work must be submitted by the end of the five week or the end of each quarter. Extensions will be granted but only if you have received permission first from Mrs. Hall. If you are absent, please note my school web site has a calendar link that lists all assignments for the week. The grading structure will be as follows: Assignments Unit Tests Technique* 40% 40% 20% *The purpose of this class is to learn to key information into the computer without watching your fingers. If you consistently watch your fingers, your grade will never be higher than an 80. This policy is in effect to emphasize the proper keyboarding technique. Also included in the technique section is speed. You must key at least 25 words per minute to pass this class. Even if you have passed all assignments and tests, if you have not reached 25 w.p.m., you will not pass this class. Taking the final examination is required to pass this class. CLASS RULES 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. No name calling. Do not swear or tell anyone to shut up. Every third late is 20 minutes of after school detention. No talking while anyone else is speaking to the class. Homework is due on a specific date or it is a zero. In accordance with the school homework policy, freshmen and sophomores will be assigned after school with me if they owe more than 5 assignments. Do not print a file more than one time. If it does not appear, please call me over--there is a problem. Save your document with meaningful titles. Cell phones will be confiscated and turned into administration. Once a quarter, you will have an opportunity to advertise business courses. This grade is considered a test grade. It is optional.
