PAPRN+ Network Call Notes Thursday, March 31, 2016 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Eastern Time Updates from the CDC - America Walks is sponsoring “Walking College,” an interactive, online educational program for walkable community advocates. This spring, 25 Walking College Fellowships will be awarded to community change agents working alone, in organizations, or in professions such as public health, planning, transportation, or education. Applications are due April 15th. If you, your students, or friends in your community might be interested, you can get more details on their website. Click here for more information and to apply. -National Association of Chronic Disease Directors and the CDC are putting on an Action Institute, a group-based training where people from planning, transportation, and public health form teams and come together for training to promote walking and walkability as a cross-sectoral strategy. A report about this is on the NACDD webpage. The team for 2016 has already been selected, but those who have been in the Action Institute might be able to serve as a resource to PAPRN+ Network members doing things in the community and who need either the structure or people with those skills. -The National Physical Activity Plan is going to be re-released as a new version on April 20th. Please look at the changes that have been made and see how you can be a part of it.
