Methods of Teaching Communication Arts
I chose the format and questions that I did because I think this will show how the
student interprets the standards.
I think that it is easier to remember something if you put it into your own words.
Even though the standards are given to the student, they can reply by putting the standard
into their own words. They are more likely to understand them if they can relate or have
them in their own words.
Also, the students have to show how they would use the standard in the
classroom. This will show that the student knows how to integrate the standards into the
classroom.
There is one short answer question and that refers to the three needs for standards.
It is important to understand that there is a need for standards in a classroom. I think that
it would also help when there is an argument about why students need to do things like
read a play written by some person who has been dead for 200 years. It gives you
backup.
