20 Minute Individual Teaching

ENGL 490A: Methods of Teaching Communication Arts
Construct:
Construct a teaching / learning plan for a 50 minute class period. The lesson
should focus on an area of English / Language Arts that you believe you need to
review. Be sure that the learning objectives are clear and measurable. Further, be
sure that your evaluation section demonstrates how you will determine whether or
not the learning objectives were met. Finally, remember to identify the national
standards being addressed in the TLP.
Teach:
You will teach 20 minutes of this plan. Be prepared and dressed appropriately
and ready to teach on November 30th.
Video Tape:
Arrange for a classmate to take charge of shooting the video so that it is not all a
full classroom shot. (You will need to direct the individual as to camera angles).
From this 20 minutes you will edit 5 minutes that best shows you managing an
English / Language Arts class.
