Assessment Committee Meeting Report for May 1, 2007

Course Syllabus
Template
The template proposal has been forwarded to the Faculty Caucus (Brad
Hays) and the Curriculum Committee (Paul Sukys). Also, Bob Matney has
been asked if/how the template could be managed (software) for curriculum
mapping of the core outcomes template. Kate is waiting for a response.
Terry reported that the Curriculum Committee has reviewed the template
and is recommending some changes.
2 programs have sent WAC reports to Mike. Mike will send an e-mail
reminder since we are approaching the end of the quarter.
Most faculty have responded positively to the request for CAAP testing in
their capstone courses. Only faculty left to respond are Jennifer Adkins and
Brad Hays – Kate has recently contacted them directly by e-mail and is
waiting for a response. Tom will do a random generation of students to take
the test from the ADN course.

The Committee approved the next steps plan for next year (see Appendix).
The Committee discussed professional development workshops for faculty
in the fall regarding CLO – we have results for CAAP critical thinking and
WAC. What can/should we do to improve?
Next meeting will be 5/15. Agenda will include reports from CLO Teams
on next steps and ideas for workshops; and WAC/SpAC update.
