Troy reported that, while the return rate on graduate surveys was 46%, none
of the surveys included responses to the CLO self-assessment questions.
Troy asked for a sub-group to address the problem(s). The Committee had
some suggestions – combine the graduate survey with the petition to
graduate; offer a reward such as alumni membership for survey completion;
go electronic with Survey Monkey as a possible platform; consider changes
to follow-up calendar/timing. Janet and Bob volunteered to work with
Troy. They will report back to the Committee at the next meeting.
The Committee discussed and changed the goal regarding assessment and
the curriculum approval process

(Critical Thinking, Computer Literacy, Computation). The Committee
decided that for Computer Literacy and Computation, we would wait until
the Core Curriculum group comes out with its recommendations since these
might impact these CLOs. The Committee will put together at team to
investigate a rubric for Critical Thinking. Bob, Jay and Kate volunteered.
Reports for 08/09 are due 10/15. The only reports missing from the
professional programs for 07/08 are from EDU and ECE. Kate has asked
Teri Brannum for these reports several times, including this week.
