Daily Objective: SWBAT remember the special relations of 3 sides in 45-45-90 right triangles
and solve for missing sides for 45-45-90 triangles.
TEKS/AP/Standards: G.5.A, G.5.D, G.7.C, G.9.B
How will we learn it?
Learning Activities:
Exploring the trend: Use Pythagorean theorem to solve for the hypotenuse for several right
triangles. The legs of the right triangles are 2 and 2, 3 and 3, 4 and 4 ect.
Discover the trend: in a 45-45-90 right triangle, if each leg is x, the hypotenuse is 2 times
one leg.
Guided practices.

Assessment Methods: Homework/ Exit ticket
Checks for Understanding: grade on accuracy. Warm up question at the beginning of the
class on Wed/Thu.

Guided notes: in 30-60-90 right triangle, shortest leg is x, hypotenuse is 2 times the shortest
leg and longer leg is 3 times shortest leg.
Solve for missing side of 30-60-90 triangle by set up proportional equations.
