to a piece of fiction.
1. Do first: Simple Sentences and Compound Sentences Review
2. Most Dangerous Game: Reading Check Quiz
3. Column Notes for MDG: Add Characterization (from my PowerPoint notes)
4. Independent Practice: STEAL Method Chart (General Zaroff or Rainsford)
Homework: Finish “STEAL Method” chart for either General Zaroff or Rainsford
Tuesday 9/16
Objective: I will be able to deepen my understanding of the methods of characterization by comparing
and contrasting two stylistically different works of fiction.
1. Do first: Complex Sentences
2. Read “The Cask of Amontillado” in class
3. Compare/Contrast Guided Practice: Edgar Allen Poe VS. Richard Connell (Diction & Syntax)

Objective: I will be able to support my assertions about characterization by using textual evidence.
