solutions, and analyze situations.
Activities: Go over the scientific method using fun examples. Go over the
design method that will apply to project development for class.
Hand out article about lab mice and generate a class discussion of worldly
implications/ethics.

Follow Up/HW: Type 2 page response to article due Friday. *Quality not quantity
counts.
Objective: To know how precise our calculations should be and reinforce how to
change one set of units to another (dimensional analysis).
Activities: Reinforce dimensional analysis using examples and peer help if
necessary.
Go over rules for using significant digits (table 1-5 and 1-6 in book) and begin
with guided practice. Have students explain to each other why we use sig. figs.
in class.
