Activities: Go over the scientific method using fun examples. Go over the design method that will apply to project development for class. Hand out article about lab mice and generate a class discussion of worldly implications/ethics. Materials: Article, notes, book, calculator. 1 A, 1 B, 2 A, 2 B, 2 C, 3 B Wednesday/Thursday TEKS: Materials: Book, notes, worksheets, calculator. Follow Up/HW: Complete the 2 worksheets on today’s concepts. TLW:2A-F, 3A-C Friday Follow Up/HW: Type 2 page response to article due Friday. *Quality not quantity counts. Objective: To know how precise our calculations should be and reinforce how to change one set of units to another (dimensional analysis). Activities: Reinforce dimensional analysis using examples and peer help if necessary. Go over rules for using significant digits (table 1-5 and 1-6 in book) and begin with guided practice. Have students explain to each other why we use sig. figs. in class. 1 A, 1 B, 2 A, 2 B, 2 C, 3B Objective: Reinforce all concepts thus far in class in preparation for Tuesday’s Test. Activities: Review all concepts and have students answer questions as teams. Assist those still needing help in pairs/groups.
