Summary of Accomplishments 2003-04 Decided to focus on the areas of writing, speech, critical thinking and mathematics for cross-curricular assessment efforts. Made progress toward the assessment of writing across the curriculum. o Developed a writing rubric with supporting documents and conducted workshops for faculty in using the rubric. o Piloted writing assessment in capstone courses in the spring. Began work on a speech rubric for assessment across the curriculum. Actively supported the AQIP initiative. Heard reports from deans/supervisors in the academic areas and the Student Success Center on program level assessment efforts. Decided that the Committee Chair should be a faculty member, appointed faculty member as Chair. Added members from the Student Services area to support their efforts toward learning outcomes assessment.
