Routine medical problems can be cared for at the Student Health Center. The Resident Director, Resident Assistant or the Student Health Center should be informed if a residential student is in need of emergency medical care. They may provide immediate assistance, aid the emergency services in locating the student or activating the campus crisis notification process. Candler General Hospital, Memorial Health University Medical Center and St. Joseph Hospitals are located in the Savannah, Georgia area. Students may seek care at any Community Health Care Providers at their own expense. Such care is not covered by the University nor they Student Health fee. Students should report such visits to the Student Health Center to facilitate continuity of care. Students may obtain follow up care or assistance with follow up care at the Student Health Center. All documentation of the medical visit should be brought to the Health Center when the student is first seen by the Center’s staff.
