The Interjection The interjection has the same purpose as an exclamatory sentence and that is to express a strong feeling. The interjection is usually followed by an exclamation point. The big difference in an interjection and an exclamatory sentence is that an interjection is only a word and has no grammatical relationship to the rest of the sentence. Examples of interjections; Ouch! That hurts. Uh-oh! I’m in a real trouble now. Wow! What a super report card! Goodness! What kind of animal would you call that? Aha! This is much better.
