ACTIVITIES: (Please provide a list of the activities students will perform in order to satisfy the HBA requirement): COURSE/CATALOG DESCRIPTION This physical education course is designed for students with disabilities to participate in recreational and fitness exercises. This course may be repeated with the instructor’s approval. It may be repeated three times. DSPS. COURSE OBJECTIVES: At the completion of the course the student will be able to: 1. Perform stretching and strength exercises 2. Increase small and large motor skills with the use of balls, rackets, walking, running, jumping etc. 3. Perform in a group atmosphere and demonstrate cooperation in group play 4. Develop correct body mechanics in motor activities 5. Develop good habits and attitudes toward health and physical activity INTENDED STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES: Demonstrate improved flexibility Demonstrate improved cardiovascular endurance Demonstrate improved strength COURSE CONTENT (Lecture): COURSE CONTENT (Lab): Orientation and introduction to class format and activities Increase flexibility Increase strength and cardiovascular conditioning Individual and group games METHODS OF INSTRUCTION: 1.
