COURSE/CATALOG DESCRIPTION
This physical education course is designed for students with disabilities to participate in recreational and fitness
exercises. This course may be repeated with the instructor’s approval. It may be repeated three times. DSPS.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of the course the student will be able to:
1. Perform stretching and strength exercises
2. Increase small and large motor skills with the use of balls, rackets, walking, running, jumping etc.
3. Perform in a group atmosphere and demonstrate cooperation in group play
4. Develop correct body mechanics in motor activities
5. Develop good habits and attitudes toward health and physical activity
INTENDED STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Demonstrate improved flexibility

OUTSIDE OF CLASS WEEKLY ASSIGNMENTS:
Title 5, section 55002.5 establishes that a range of 48 -54hours of lecture, study, or lab work is required for one unit of credit.
For each hour of lecture, students should be required to spend an additional two hours of study outside of class to earn one
unit of credit.
