What is a Super User Workshop? A
Super User Workshop is a meeting
conducted by a Super User to assist the
employees in their area. The purpose of
the workshop will vary depending on the
needs of the employees, but typically will
reinforce key learning points from the
Project Compass training materials while
providing a forum for Q&A and discussion.
The workshop should increase employee
knowledge and confidence in using
PeopleSoft Financials in their daily work.
Should you conduct a Super User
Workshop? Do employees in your area
have questions about how to use
PeopleSoft Financials? Will work
processes be changing? Do you think
procedures or policies may be impacted?
If the answer to any of these questions is
“yes,” consider conducting a Super User
Workshop in your area. Through your
workshop, employees can ask their
questions and “talk through” what they’ve
learned. They may also value a forum to
discuss ways to successfully incorporate
PeopleSoft Financials in their roles and
work processes.

What should you cover in
your Workshop? To determine
what to include, review the
Project Compass training
materials on the topic you are
considering. As you review the
training materials, complete a
Workshop Planner, available
from the Project Compass
website Super User page. The
Workshop Planner will help you
devise your agenda and
objectives.
In addition, review the sample
Super User Workshop shown on
the next page. You may begin
with the sample Workshop, and
customize from there. Finally,
talk with employees in your area
to gain an understanding of their
questions and/or concerns.

How should I conduct my Workshop? Facilitating a
workshop requires some planning and thought. Tips for
Conducting Super User Workshops on the next page will
provide some helpful hints for successful workshops.
When should you conduct your workshop? For your possible Workshop topics, visit the
Project Compass website to identify scheduled learning opportunities. These opportunities include
training and, in some cases, supportive webinars or learning labs. Plan your own Super User
Workshop to complement the timing of these events. You may wish to piggy-back existing staff
meetings or other events when impacted employees are already gathered.



Keep your Workshop to no more
than one hour in length.
Start and end on time.
Always begin your Workshop by
stating with the Workshop
Objectives and Agenda.
Encourage discussion by asking
open-ended questions throughout
the Workshop.
o “How will this technology
change the way we work?”
o “What was the most helpful
aspect of this change?”
o “What challenges might we
experience?”
o “What questions do you have
about how this will really work?”
Provide appropriate handouts.
Use materials created by Subject
Matter Experts or other Super Users
when you can!
Record open issues, questions
requiring follow-up, and action items
on a “parking lot.”
Before ending the meeting, record
an Action Plan (what/who/when).
o “What are the next steps for us
following this meeting?”
Ask for feedback after the meeting.
Use feedback to improve future
Workshops.
