Paper #2: Character Analysis, The Book of Unknown Americans
For this assignment you will be asked to write 2 PIE paragraphs about a character or
characters in The Book of Unknown Americans. You can focus your paper on any idea
of interest to you throughout the book, but keep your focus on an analysis of the
characters. You can write the PIE paragraphs about different characters or different
ideas; however, you must include a brief introduction OR conclusion paragraph that
makes an analytical connection between your two PIE paragraphs. Remember, this
is an analysis paper, not a summary paper. You will develop you ideas critically
instead of just explaining what happens.
Requirements:
1. 2 PIE paragraphs (focused Point, quote for Information, and fully developed
E—at least 5 sentences of E)
2. 1 Brief introduction OR conclusion paragraph that connects the ideas in the 2
PIE paragraphs together
3. 2 Quotes
4. MLA format, including in-text citing
5. An engaging title
6. 4 Subordinating Conjunction sentences
7. Organization:
