MATH 450: GUIDELINES FOR THE POSTER Spring 2013 You are expected to prepare a poster on the same topic used for your final project. This poster will be presented at the annual campus-wide Undergraduate Scholarship Poster Session held in April. The poster should be an overview of your work. Show the main ideas and highlights of your project. Remember that most of the audience will not have much mathematical background, so don’t be overly technical. Be sure to credit your faculty sponsor. Try to make your poster visually appealing. Use pictures and graphics as much as possible. (No one wants to read a lot of print or calculations.) Make the printing large enough to read from a few feet away. Using color, both for the images and for the backgrounds, can enhance your presentation. Calendar 1. Thursday Feb. 21: Submit a one-page proposal. You should include a title, an abstract describing the project (≤ 300 words), and the name of your faculty sponsor. 2. Tuesday February 26: Submit your poster abstract to undergradresearch@bellarmine.edu (and copy me on this email). 3. Monday April 15: Poster presentations in Frazier Hall 5:00-7:00. You should also refer to the rubric on the course website and to the guidelines for posters at http://cas.bellarmine.edu/chemistry/RW/Index.htm .
