As a R.O.S.E., you are expected to hold a high standard of academics, ethics, and discipline;
however, there are consequences when poor choices are made. That being said, demerits will
be issued to students who choose to behave inappropriately.
`
Classwork:
Academic expectations are high at YWCPA, therefore, it is expected that you put forth your
absolute best effort. All assignments must be legible with the proper heading. If an assignment
is not legible, it will be returned without a grade for you to complete again.
Homework:
Students will be responsible for completing all homework assignments. Homework enhances
and supports what we are learning in class and you will have a minimum of one (1) homework
assignment per week.
Late Work:
In accordance with school policy, you will have two (2) instructional days to submit an
assignment late for the highest possible grade of 50.
Make-Up Work:
In accordance with school policy, you will have the number of days equal to that of your excused
absence to turn in make-up work without penalty. You will be responsible for collecting,
completing, and submitting all missed assignments.
Note: All previously planned assignments (projects, major assessments) given prior to your
absence will be due on its original due date. Unless your absence is due to a major
(documented) emergency, due dates will not be postponed.
Re-Test Policy:
You will only be allowed to retake major classroom-level assessments (i.e. unit assessments). It
is your responsibility to request a re-test within five (5) days of receiving the grade. The
maximum grade earned on a re-test is 80. The exam will be an alternate form of the original.
Assessments:
You will be responsible for studying for quizzes and unit assessments. In addition to these
assessments, district-level exams will be administered throughout the school year. To prepare
for upcoming assessments, you are encouraged to study course notes daily, attend tutorials,
form a study group, and/or find a study buddy.
Extra Credit:
Occasionally, you will receive opportunities and options for extra credit. Any extra credit points
you accumulate can be added to an assignment grade, however, extra credit points cannot take
the place of a major project or assessment grade.
Tutorials:
Tutorials will be offered every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. This time will be used to
receive additional instructional support and/or clear up any confusion you have about concepts,
