Summary Statement: State the major function(s) of the position and its role in the university. The Director of Admissions is responsible for the design and implementation of enrollment yield programs for all new students at the university including transfer students, as well as specifically targeted freshmen groups. The director works collaboratively with members of the University community to develop and implement marketing plan initiatives as related to recruitment of undergraduate students. The Director is responsible for the development and implementation of the University’s undergraduate marketing and recruitment plan to identify, attract, admit and enroll diverse and talented undergraduate students in a highly competitive environment. This position directs overall activities of the Office of Admissions, Office for Prospective Students, Welcome Center, Las Vegas Recruitment Office, Northeast Nevada Regional Recruiter, and the California Regional Recruter including planning, management and evaluation for staff, budget, systems development and implementation, and all other functions of undergraduate recruitment and admissions services. The Director is responsible for identifying technology that will effectively support and enhance marketing strategies, delivery of services, internal processes, and enrollment trend analysis. The incumbent advises and trains various student organizations including the Student Ambassadors associated with marketing, recruitment, and general promotion of the university. The Director reports to the Associate Vice President, Enrollment Services. 2. List the major responsibilities, including percentage of time devoted to each. Level of Freedom: The position is the most accountable for the enrollment of new students to the university. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing the University’s Strategic Marketing Plan as it relates to recruitment of undergraduate students. The individual is expected to provide leadership in the performance of the responsibilities of the position in order to insure the success and credibility of the division’s work and the reputation of UNR and NSHE. Incumbent has considerable latitude for independent action and decision-making. Impact: The success or failure of this position effects the entire university especially the economic impact of student enrollment and future resources received by the university. University budgets including new construction are based on current and future projections on student enrollment. The university demonstrated commitment to diversity depends on the ability of this position to generate enrollment of underrepresented students in proportion to the population of the State of Nevada. The position also directly influences how the community, as well as new students, perceive and experience the university and the transition to student life. The position has a direct impact on the academic reputation of the university which is primarily based on the quality of the enrolled students. 4.
