1. Summary Statement: State the major function(s) of the position and its role in the
university. Attach an organizational chart with positions, ranges, and names for the division
which reflects the position in it as well as those supervised in the department. (This section is
used for advertisement of the position.)
The Coordinator, Admissions and Recruitment (North) is located in the Division of Enrollment
Services in Reno and the Coordinator, Admissions and Recruitment (South) is located in Las Vegas,
Nevada. The major responsibility of this position is to actively recruit admissible students from
Southern Nevada, Southern California, and additional out-of-state markets as determined by the
Director, with special emphasis of ethnically diverse students and students with special talents. The
North position reports to the Director of Admissions in Reno and the South position reports to the
Director, Admissions and Recruitment in the Southern Office.
2. List the major responsibilities, including percentage of time devoted to each. Provide
enough detail to enable a person outside the department to understand the job (percentage

80% - Student Recruitment
 Actively recruit eligible students in assigned schools, community colleges sites and
surrounding rural areas for recruitment presentations
 Manages and spearheads the University’s recruitment activities including planning and
attending high school visits, area receptions, college fairs, and individual meetings
 Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies in various out-of-state markets
 Serve as a resource to counselors and teachers concerning admissions and special programs
 Counsel prospective students, parents and counselors regarding admissions requirements,
course placement, major selection and financial aid and scholarships
 Develop and execute effective telephone counseling campaigns throughout the recruitment
cycle
 Utilize latest technology and data collection to make strategic and intellectual decisions in
recruitment markets
 Provide information regarding current and future academic majors and programs
20% - Special Events Coordination
 Assist with coordination of the University special events
 Provide update on trends in Northern or Southern Nevada and California that affect
recruitment
 Represent University at college fairs/programs

Bachelor’s Degree and two years of experience in recruitment in higher education from
an accredited four-year institution and in a multicultural environment; previous positions
which include diverse public contact
