UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS DARTMOUTH DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING ECE 442 POWER ELECTRONICS SOFTWARE ASSIGNMENT HALF-BRIDGE SERIES - RESONANT INVERTER Create a MultiSim circuit that simulates a half-bridge resonant inverter as shown in Fig. 8.8 on page 363 of the text by Rashid. Instead of using IGBTs as the switching devices, use diodes and voltagecontrolled switches. The source voltage VS = 220 Volts. The switching frequency is to be determined by using one-half of your age in kHz. The load resistance is 1 Ω. Determine suitable values for the inductor and capacitor in the series resonant circuit. Use the center-tap of VS as the ground. Display the waveform of the current through the load. It might be advisable to substitute two 110 Volt batteries (with proper polarity) for the two capacitors (C1 and C2) and the 220 Volt source. Include a second simulation for the same circuit driven by a 25% overlap. Include a Fourier analysis for each simulation, and note any differences in frequency component content and THD between the two cases. For each simulation, submit a complete design and diagram of your final circuit along with the waveform of the current through the load and the Fourier Analysis.
