He never shows frustration at this- he gets the work done so that the project can continue forward. I appreciate his willingness to help and his competence in doing the job right.” Dates & Coordination Most of the Shirts are here. A couple orders got mixed up but we should get the corrected shirts sometime next week. Vickie will be placing an additional order for new employees. University Awards of Excellence Nominations need to be submitted to Ray by first thing Monday morning, as he will be giving them to Val. This year marks UVU’s 75th Anniversary. Lots of celebratory events this year. MLK Keynote Address at noon on Thursday. State of the University is the 26th. Student Technical Projects: Ray and Dani have been working to streamline this process. Working with Marketing and will have advertising/informational deliverables soon. MyUVU Beta version was launched on Friday. It’s live and available, but not yet complete. Live launch is set for March 18th. You can check it out now: my.uvu.edu. Outages There’s a Banner upgrade coming up, exact date forthcoming. There will be a brief outage Thursday night in preparation for Monday’s larger outage. CAB (Change Advisory Board) Committee has been meeting for several weeks now. They are working on creating official downtime windows that everyone can refer to and plan on. IT Oversight Committee This is still a developing group, so we have the opportunity to exert our influence. Some concerns/topics to bring to their attention: Make sure we present ideas in a language the VPs can understand. Create a consensus and understanding about outage windows. Determine a yearly outage window for testing emergency processes in the data center. Departments have a habit of purchasing random software programs that they expect us to help with or take over and manage. This isn’t efficient, sustainable, or serious. We need to develop a stricter policy with accompanying rationale to present. Ray encourages us to think about any other issues we want to go up to this committee. He’d like to come up with a list of our hot projects for the next 6 months. Next Meeting Tuesday, February 9, 2016 in BA-005b at 3:00 pm
