scholars at each site; to be completed by jointly by US and site mentors for each site.

Taking Call: Once weekly during weekdays
Weekend Hours: Saturday 4 hours, Sunday off
Weekday Hours: 8am-6pm daily
Free Time/Vacation Days: Sundays off, no vacation time is integrated into rotation
Flexibility of scheduling: Some
Impact of time of year/season on rotation: Wet/Dry seasons impact malaria burden and
incidence of water born pathogens.
Expectations for sociocultural etiquette: Will be advised prior to departure.
Safety issues: Night time travel. Political context of post-conflict environment. Travel
outside of Monrovia.
Participation in existing research: Heavily emphasized.
List expected rotation sites/Affiliated Institutions: Univ of Chicago, Brown University,
Mt Sinai School of Medicine. All rotators will be working at JFK Medical Center.
Potential for rotation at Redemption Hospital (Public Facility on outskirts of Monrovia)
exist as well.

How many of these opportunities is a resident expected to attend? As desired
Other comments: Rotation is intended for residents possibly interested in careers in
global health are requires some prior knowledge or practice in low resource
environments. Rotators will have significant direct patient care responsibility and will be
caring for advanced and complicated cases with limited resources. Priority is given to
senior level residents and those with prior work experience in tropical settings.
