Show respect towards teacher and other students. All work must be completed in PENCIL with required steps shown. 5. 10/10 rule Supplies (Bring all supplies to class each day) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 3-ring binder with COLLEGE ruled notebook paper. 5 labeled dividers (Do Nows, Notes, CW/HW, Quizzes, Tests) Composition Notebook with 100 pages #2 Pencils with erasers (wooden or mechanical) Red checking pen or red pencil Completed homework assignment Student agenda will be used daily to record the objectives, assignments, and test dates. 8. Tissue Box Expectations As a 7th grader, students will be held to a high standard. Students will be expected to come to class on time, prepared, and ready to learn. If a student is absent, they are responsible for collecting missing assignments and assignment is due 5 school days later. Students in need of extra help must attend tutorials in order to close any gaps in their understanding. Students will be expected to write everything out including problem, work, and complete answers. A paper turned in that consists of a list of answers will not be accepted. NO WORK – NO CREDIT Class Procedures Before class starts, students must have supplies ready. Students are required to copy Homework, Due Dates, and Test Dates in student agenda either before class or 5 minutes before class ends. If homework is due, have it on top right corner of desk to check when bell rings. Begin the do now. Students are not allowed to go to the restroom while the teacher is instructing. (Continued on the back) Assignments All work must be completed in pencil. Students will not be allowed to return to their lockers to retrieve forgotten assignments. Students missing work due to absence(s) need to make up the work as soon as possible Please note that assignments made prior to the absence(s) will be due on the first return day, including tests. Each student is responsible for keeping his or her math papers organized. Math assignments will be posted on the Johnston website under the teacher’s name. Tutorials Tutorials are offered on Mondays (Pre-Ap classes) and Wednesdays/Thursdays. Tutorial times are 3:50 – 4:30 pm (subject to change). Student is expected to arrive on time. Students must have a pass that was issued by me to be able to be admitted to the session. Students need to bring their questions and must sign in and out of each session. Test/Quizzes There will be at least 2 test grades each six weeks. Quizzes may be announced or unannounced. Students should review class notes and rework sample homework and quiz problems in order to be well prepared for each quiz and test. Tests and quizzes will be kept in binder in order to review for semester exams and STAAR.
