UNIVERSITY OF EXETER SPRC/08/26 STRATEGY, PERFORMANCE AND RESOURCES COMMITTEE, 8 February 2008 DUAL ASSURANCE REPORT: INFORMATION SERVICES (including C&IT infrastructure) Item Description Considerations/Evidence/Consultation Network Upgrade Project Key objective: to implement a fullydocumented, wired and wireless, upgraded data and voice network, capable of meeting the known and projected requirements of the University for the next five to seven years. Consultation with all stakeholders to ensure use capture. Key objectives: a top 10 library by 2010 and creation of multi-adaptable spaces to support student learning, impact on student experience and improve the research environment. External consultants, MoveCorp, produced a facility plan. Library Task and Finish Group established to advise Director of Academic Services on the facility plan and on the Collection Development Policy and its implementation. Recommendations from the T&F Group will be forwarded to Senate. Library space reorganisation project Decision/Recommendation (with reasons) Tender process will commence shortly with the aim of starting work in summer 2008. Implementer The Law Library will remain in the Amory Building for the foreseeable future; the Arabic Collection currently in the Old Library would move into an extended AWDU fundraising permitting; the Harrison Library would relocate to the Main Library during summer 2008.
